The case of an immunocompetent patient with invasive pulmonary pseudallescheriasis and subsequent contiguous extension to the ribs and spine is reported. Aspergillosis was mistakenly diagnosed on histopathologic examination of the debrided tissue. Culture of the debrided tissue yielded Pseudallescheria boydii. ? 1994 Friedr.
