Specifically, five senses experience from forest bathing helps reduce stress and anxiety that consequently results in psychological and physiological healthy benefits. Nevertheless, the question “what kind of forest provides the health improvement function?” is a remaining gap in forest therapy study and in practices. Additionally, the study of forest and human health in the local context is still in initial stage in Taiwan. To this end, this research aims to study the psychophysiological healthy benefits of Taiwan forests and investigates the environmental characteristics of therapeutic forest. This research is a three years project. The first year, researchers will collect biofeedback responses in order to understanding the effects of reducing stress and anxiety of on-site forest bathing experiences from both nerve system and endocrine system perspectives. The second year, health-related benefits research using lab stimulation experiments will be conducted with important forest therapeutic factors such as appearance of forest, forest audio and phytoncides that further validates the contribution of therapeutic characteristics to human health. Environmental characteristics of therapeutic forests will be investigated during the third year. The significance of this study is to provide scientific evidence of healthy benefits in the context of local forest as well as to address the issue of healthy benefits of forest bathing and environmental factors. This research contributes to explaining the healthy effects of specific Taiwan forest, and consequently the results support health promotion that provides a direction of forest management.森林浴健康效益生心理壓力療癒環境因子forest bathinghealthy benefitsstress and anxietytherapeutic forest『健康森林,健康人群』:森林浴健康效益與療癒環境因子研究
