Reactions of various carbene complexes with AgPF6 result in the cleavage of the M=C bond to give the protonated carbene species, imidazolidin-2-ylidinium salt, indicating the presence of free carbene ligand in the reaction medium. When the carbene transfer process was carried out in tetrahydrofuran, the polymerization of tetrahydrofuran occurred.Carbene transfer; Diaminocarbenes; Transition metal ionsDiamino-substituted carbene transfer between transition metal ionsjournal article10.1002/jccs.2001000032-s2.0-18944400006
