The main goals of this project are to: (1) explore the anomalous crustal deformation phenomena by analyzing the time series from more than 71 continuous GPS and 11 borehole strainmeter stations; (2) determine the accumulation of current crustal strain pattern and fault activity by the data from 909 campaign GPS stations, 42 precise leveling lines, continuous GPS network and PS-InSAR to the coupling coefficient, slip deficit and slip rate along the fault plane by inversion of geodetic measurements; (3) compare the strain rate from comtinuous GPS and strainmeter measurements and assess the parameters for the change of strain rate; (4) analyize the data corrected from 6 gas composition monitoring stations, 2 groundwater-radon monitoring stations, and 9 groundwater-level monitoring statons to characterize the potential precursors and mechanisms; (5) study the anomalous strain rate change from the observation based on geochemical monitoring stations with the comparison of those from continuous GPS and borehole strainmeter measurement; (6) analyze the potential of fault activity of the 33 active faults to assess fault parameters, and make active fault earthquake probability map; (7) maintain the database for access borehole strainmeter records and set up database security. The goal of this proposal is to gather and analyize the joint information about fault activity in Taiwan using the data from GPS, precise leveling, PS-InSAR, borehole strainmeter, gas composition and water-level monitoring stations. Along with multidisciplinary studies of plate-boundary tectonics, observation of earthquake activity, numerical simulations, and active fault systems, we aim at integrating these informations into a comprehensive understanding of fault activity and earthquake probabilities, seismogenic structures, fault mechanics and information of possible earthquake precursory.全球衛星定位系統連續觀測站PS-InSAR井下應變儀氣體地球化學水位觀測井斷層活動潛勢分析GPSCGPSPS-InSARBorehole StrainmeterGas geochemistryWater-level observation wellAalysis in Potential Activity of Faults斷層活動性觀測研究第三階段-斷層整合性觀測與潛勢分析(2/4)
