2024-05-182024-05-18https://scholars.lib.ntu.edu.tw/handle/123456789/718101Dr. Shao-Yi Cheng is currently Professor and Director of tthe Department of Family Medicine, College of Medicine, National Taiwan University. Dr. Cheng received her M.D. and MSc from National Taiwan University and completed the training in Family Medicine from National Taiwan University Hospital. She completed her DrPH. in Health Policy and Management from Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health in 2011. Her research interest involves cancer screening, women’s health, end-of-life care and quality of dying. In recent years, she has founded palliative care research network in Taiwan and has been collaborating with Japan and Korea for cross- cultural studies. After comparing the physician perceived quality of dying in three countries, she has moved into cohort II project named as EASED (East-Asian collaborative Study to Elucidate the Dying process). In addition, she is conducting study on Advance Care Planning with School of Public Health, Kyoto University. She is currently one of the members of the Scientific Committee of Asian Pacific Hospice Network (APHN). She is also actively involved in the design and implementation of cancer screening project in Taiwan. Dr. Cheng is currently President of the Taiwan Academy of Hospice Palliative Medicine and leading many international collaborations. Dr. Cheng is Editor-in-Chief of Taiwan Journal of Hospice Palliative Care.
