Nonketotic hyperglycemic seizure with both motor and sensory components was suspected. Tc-ECD perfusion SPECT demonstrated hyperperfusion at right parieto-occipital lobe during ictal phase. Normalization of hyperperfused area was noted on follow-up perfusion SPECT after intense glucose control. In nonketotic hyperglycemic state, the depletion of GABA in cerebral neurons lowers the seizure threshold. We demonstrated that ictal phase perfusion SPECT contributed to not only diagnosis but also served as a follow-up tool.en99m Tc-ECD | Nonketotic hyperglycemia | Parieto-occipital seizure | Perfusion SPECT99mTc-ECD; Nonketotic hyperglycemia; Parieto-occipital seizure; Perfusion SPECT[SDGs]SDG34 aminobutyric acid; insulin; cysteine; cysteine ethyl ester tc 99m; radiopharmaceutical agent; technetium complex; aged; apraxia; Article; brain nerve cell; case report; clinical article; focal epilepsy; follow up; human; hyperglycemia; insulin treatment; male; neuroimaging; non insulin dependent diabetes mellitus; nonketotic hyperglycemia; nuclear magnetic resonance imaging; seizure threshold; single photon emission computed tomography; analogs and derivatives; complication; diagnostic imaging; hyperglycemia; occipital lobe; parietal lobe; scintigraphy; Seizures; Aged; Cysteine; Humans; Hyperglycemia; Male; Occipital Lobe; Organotechnetium Compounds; Parietal Lobe; Perfusion Imaging; Radiopharmaceuticals; Seizures; Tomography, Emission-Computed, Single-PhotonIctal Phase Perfusion SPECT of Nonketotic Hyperglycemia-Induced Parieto-occipital Seizurejournal article10.1097/RLU.0000000000001397277494172-s2.0-85028239593https://scholars.lib.ntu.edu.tw/handle/123456789/514437
