Many reports are focused on the investigation of the richness and diversity of animals and plants in the fields, but there are less studies about the diversity of microbes. The composition and diversity of endophytes affect crop growth and development, and the stress resistance. However, we know little about the effect of farming practices on the endophyte diversity and the difference of endophyte diversity at different growth stages. This purpose of project is to investigate the effect of farming practices and different growth stages on the richness and diversity of rice root endophytes. We will collect the roots of rice seedlings and the plants with maximum tiller numbers from organic and conventional rice farms in Yuanli town at Miaoli County for endophyte population analysis. The results will show the sensitivity of endophytes to the farming practices and growth condition and provides resources for identification of bioindicators and beneficial microbes in the future.苗栗地區有機及慣行耕作對不同生育時期水稻根部內共生細菌相之影響
