2017-08-012024-05-17https://scholars.lib.ntu.edu.tw/handle/123456789/688644摘要:菸草粉蝨 (Bemisia tabaci) 傳播的番茄黃化捲葉病是最具破壞性的新興植物病害之一,全球許多作物生產皆受到其嚴重威脅。番茄黃化捲葉病可能導致高達 100% 的產量損失,可見其對農業經濟的損害相當大。這個疾病的發生與一群親緣相近的病毒有關,這群病毒稱為番茄黃化捲葉病毒 (Geminiviridae 科 Begomovirus 屬)。臺灣番茄田間盛行的病毒為 Tomato leaf curl Taiwan virus (ToLCTWV) 與 Tomato yellow leaf curl Thailand virus (TYLCTHV),並且有四成左右為複合感染兩種病毒。儘管番茄黃化捲葉病極具經濟上的重要性,但是我們對於病毒與病媒昆蟲之間交互作用的知識仍顯得不足。本研究團隊的長程目標是了解在「蟲媒植物病毒」的系統中病毒、病媒昆蟲與寄主植物三者之間的交互關係。這個研究計畫的主要目的是:(1) 透過田間調查,獲得目前田間菸草粉蝨的族群動態與番茄黃化捲葉病的流行資料;(2) 研究 TYLCTHV 與 ToLCTWV 進入病媒粉蝨體內之後的競爭;(3) 研究 TYLCTHV 與 ToLCTWV 感染番茄植株後的交互作用。希望透過這個計畫可以更加了解菸草粉蝨於番茄黃化捲葉病的流行所扮演的角色,以及進一步分析病毒與病媒昆蟲、病毒與寄主植物之間的交互關係。詳細了解粉蝨、病毒與番茄三者之間的交互關係,或許可以協助我們發展新穎的防治策略,保護農作物免於受到番茄黃化捲葉病的危害。<br> Abstract: Tomato yellow leaf curl disease transmitted by Bemisia tabaci is one of the destructive emerging diseases that threaten many crops worldwide. Tomato yellow leaf curl disease may cause yield losses of as much as 100% in tomato; therefore, the disease impairs the agriculture economic greatly. The disease is associated with a group of phylogenetically related viruses named tomato yellow leaf curl viruses (genus Begomovirus, family Geminiviridae). Tomato leaf curl Taiwan virus (ToLCTWV) and Tomato yellow leaf curl Thailand virus (TYLCTHV) are predominant tomato-infecting viruses in Taiwan, and about 40% of the symptomatic plants are mixed infections. Despite the economic importance of tomato yellow leaf curl disease, little information for the virus-vector interaction is known. Our long-term goal is to understand the interrelationship among virus, vector insect, and host plant in an insect-borne plant virus system. The objectives of the proposed research are to: (1) obtain the population dynamics of Bemisia tabaci in tomato fields and the epidemiological data of tomato yellow leaf curl disease through field surveys, (2) study the competition between TYLCTHV and ToLCTWV after infecting a vector whitefly, and (3) study the interaction between TYLCTHV and ToLCTWV after infecting a tomato plant. It is hoped that the proposed research will provide a better understanding of the role of Bemisia tabaci in the epidemic of tomato yellow leaf curl disease, and further analyze the interrelationships between virus and vector insect, virus and host plant.
