Multilocus sequence typing revealed that this was a ST512 clone. All of the isolates with ST512 carried a novel 12,056-bp repGR2 in combination with a repGR12-type plasmid. This plasmid, designated pAB-ML, had one copy of the blaOXA-72 gene that was flanked by XerC/XerD-like sites and conferred resistance to carbapenems. ? 2016 Elsevier B.V. and International Society of ChemotherapyAcinetobacter baumannii; blaOXA-72; ST512[SDGs]SDG3bacterial DNA; antiinfective agent; bacterial protein; beta lactamase; carbapenem derivative; OXA-72 carbapenemase, Acinetobacter baumannii; Acinetobacter baumannii; antibiotic resistance; armA gene; Article; bacterial gene; bacterial genetics; bacterial strain; blaADC 30 gene; blaOXA 24 gene; blaOXA 51 gene; blaOXA 58 gene; blaOXA 66 gene; blaOXA 72 gene; carbapenem resistant Acinetobacter baumannii; genet (clone); genotype; multilocus sequence typing; nonhuman; nucleotide sequence; priority journal; Taiwan; Acinetobacter baumannii; Acinetobacter Infections; analysis; classification; enzymology; epidemic; genetics; human; isolation and purification; microbiology; plasmid; Acinetobacter baumannii; Acinetobacter Infections; Anti-Bacterial Agents; Bacterial Proteins; beta-Lactam Resistance; beta-Lactamases; Carbapenems; Disease Outbreaks; Humans; Multilocus Sequence Typing; Plasmids; TaiwanClonal spread of blaOXA-72-carrying Acinetobacter baumannii sequence type 512 in Taiwanjournal article10.1016/j.ijantimicag.2016.04.020272423182-s2.0-84969959919
