The objective of this proposal is to analyze the older generation market and recommend a solution that would accommodate the rapidly aging population in Taipei, Taiwan. In turn, the Three Treasures Foundation could leverage this information and present a formal proposal to the Taipei City Government. The proposal outlines the importance of designing and building a community specifically catered to the needs of the elderlies, which would promote and facilitate aging in place (Centers for Disease Control, 2013). Taiwan has been aware of its rapidly aging population, yet few actions have been taken to support the shift in demographic structure. By 2025, Taiwan would officially become a super-aged society where 20% of the total population would be above the age of 65 (Council for Economic Planning, 2012b). There is a pressing need for the government to directly face the issue, address it, and prepare Taipei for the challenges that are associated with our aging population. For this business plan, the vision is to create a one-stop living platform for the elderlies, where the environment is safe, accessible and convenient. A range of products and services necessary to support convenience in an elderly’s daily routines are provided within the community, including but not limited to food, entertainment and medical-related services. The community would apply universal design (UD) principles in its environment and 20% of its apartment units, which benefits not only the elderlies but also individuals with different abilities and needs (Pilarski & Rath, 2013). This business plan proposes to partner with the Taipei City Government’s “1-3-5-7” urban renewal plan as there is an opportunity presented with the timing of this initiative (Huang & Chuang, 2015). The E-Cozy Community project would be an amendment to the government’s current plan, and the identified interim housing locations by the government would be the targeted location for the E-Cozy Community project. Specifically, the MingLun Elementary School is the location of interest as the government has complete ownership of the land and is expected to be the first site to undergo construction in 2016 (G. M. Lin, 2015).27081395 bytesapplication/pdf論文公開時間: 2016/8/11論文使用權限: 同意有償授權(權利金給回饋學校)銀髮族社區高齡化社會台灣Retirement CommunityOne-Stop Living PlatformAging PopulationTaiwan[SDGs]SDG11台北舒宜居家社區創業計畫Business Plan: The E-Cozy Community Project for Elderlies in Taipeithesishttp://ntur.lib.ntu.edu.tw/bitstream/246246/272788/1/ntu-104-R02749010-1.pdf
