The socio-economic development in Lao People’s Democratic Republic is slow in contrast to other states in Southeast Asia. The ethnic composition is complicated, and the mutual interaction among these peoples is very limited due to the fact of lacking infrastructure of transportation. However, both Vientiane and Luang Prabang, the capital in the present and the royal capital in the past, are imaginedly progressive and perfect “big cities” where strongly attract people thinking of moving in. In this project, I, in the first place, would like to take the Tai-Lue people as example to describe the process of moving in urban areas under the circumstances of community atmosphere and family encouragement. Second, I, in my preliminary knowledge, find that the Lue urbanites experience city life through eyes from temples being monks on the one hand, and encounter an “English World” brought in by international tourists on the other hand. Every Lue male residing in temples within the two cities try hard to learn English, they construct an “world image” through studying and practicing such a language which represents the most civilized civilization in the contemporary world. This research will be deeply in relation to the discussion of ethnicity (Lue and Lao in contact), distinction of “urban “shining” appearance and rural “backwardness”, recognition of the difference between sacredness and secularity (Lue in temple looking at things out of temples), foreign language as media of constructing global “superior” human world, and the participation of tourist culture. I plan to establish a full picture of the Lue life history in their personal experiences in national, international and globalized arena by methodology of network analysis.傣泐國家大城世界文化英語國際觀光寺院生活移向都會美世想像Tai-Luenational metropolisworld cultureEnglishinternational tourismtemple life想像的國家大城與心儀的世界文化─寮國北部Lue人的移向都市
