Based on two operations, i.e., sampling and swapping, we propose a novel re-indexing technique with the lowest complexity on the palette size and ability to further improve existing methods, which are two unique features that contrast others. Experiment results verify the effectiveness of this technique. © 2008 IEEE.Color palette; Index image; Re-indexing; Sampling; SwappingColor palette; Existing method; Index image; Indexed image; Low-complexity; Re-indexing; Swapping; Unique features; Color; Image processing; Imaging systems; Indexing (of information)A low-complexity palette re-indexing technique based on sampling-swappingconference paper10.1109/ICIP.2008.47119332-s2.0-69949113213
