The Center enrolls 108 undergraduate (sophomore and above) and graduate students each year from all departments within the University. The Center collaborates with more than 30 departments at NTU and 50 cooperating schools to offer courses and internships. Besides, students are encouraged to participate in the remote school summer camps organized by CTE Student Association.</span></p><p class="MsoNormal"> Our goal is to prepare teachers with the following characteristics: </p><ol><li><b>Professionalism</b><span style="font-size:12px;line-height:1.5;">: Solid foundation in content and pedagogical knowledge.</span></li><li><b>Diversity</b><span style="font-size:12px;line-height:1.5;">: Broad horizon in perspectives and respect for diversity.</span></li><li><b>Innovation</b><span style="font-size:12px;line-height:1.5;">: Creativity in curriculum and instruction.</span></li><li><b>Care</b><span style="font-size:12px;line-height:1.5;">: Ability to care for students for their growth and wellbeing.</span></li><li><b>Leadership</b><span style="font-size:12px;line-height:1.5;">: Ability to lead in teaching and administration.</span></li></ol><p class="MsoNormal"><span style="line-height:1.5;">The faculty of the Center has the following research focuses:</span></p><ol><li><b>Chinese Education Perspectives</b><span style="font-size:12px;line-height:1.5;">: Studying teaching and learning from Chinese historical and cultural perspectives.</span></li><li><b>Teacher Education</b><span style="font-size:12px;line-height:1.5;">: Studying the cultural characteristics for teacher professional development and reasons to stay on the job.</span></li><li><b>School Reform and student outcome</b><span style="font-size:12px;line-height:1.5;">: Inquiring students’ outcome during the school and curriculum reform.</span></li><li><b>Integrating technology into teaching</b><span style="font-size:12px;line-height:1.5;">: Conducting large-scale surveys to understanding how technology is utilized in the classroom and the role that teachers play in the process of integration.</span></li><li><b>Student’s learning and educational advancement</b><span style="font-size:12px;line-height:1.5;">: Postulating how cram school experiences affect student’s academic achievement and how students advance in education in general in Taiwan and South East Asia.</span></li></ol><a href="http://www.education.ntu.edu.tw/" target="_blank">http://www.education.ntu.edu.tw/</a>師資培育中心稟持校訓「敦品」、「勵學」、「愛國」、「愛人」之精神,致力培育學生具備「專業」、「多元」、「創新」、「關懷」、「領導」等五大特質之未來「卓越教師」。 本中心教育目標圓心圖如下: (一)專業:具備教育理念價值、教育環境體制、課程、學習者特性、教學法、專門學科、整合任教學科和教育理論之知能。 (二)多元:藉由學習、觀察和省思,以體會人己之異、他我之同,進而培養多元文之視野和胸襟。 (三)創新:具備設計適性化教材、統整課程、創新教學之能力。會採用不同教學策略,靈活運用評量方式,以提升學生學習興趣和教育品質。 (四)關懷:秉持教育熱忱,關心學生個別差異和身心健全成長。 (五)領導: 培養獨立思考能力,具備願景規劃之能力,認識自我個性,瞭解教育環境體制特性,整合堅實之教育專業和專門知能,促進學生自我實現,協調帶動同儕專業成長。Center for Teacher Education
