Many of these adolescents are at high risk of developing, or suffer from, mental health problems and disorders, so it is usually hard to place them for foster family care, and institutional group care becomes the only choice. It is very important to evaluate mental health needs of adolescents in care, so appropriate services can be delivered. However, not much has been done to examine this population in Taiwan, so the current research attempts to do the following: 1) to assess mental health problems and needs of adolescents in residential care; 2) to examine factors associated with these problems; 3) to study services available to them as well as limitations or barriers in delivering services from the staff perspective. Respondents of this study include adolescents (aged 12 to 18), and related staff members. Adolescents and the staff will be recruited nationwide, and structured questionnaires are used to collect data. Information of adolescents will be collected via face-to-face interviews to increase the response rate. In terms of information from the staff, self-administered questionnaires will be used. In addition, case records of participated adolescents will be examined to gather information regarding their placement stability, length of placement, and times of interacting with family members during placement. It is hoped that findings of this study can help develop effective interventions and policies for adolescents in residential care.機構安置少年心理困擾問題行為residential careadolescentmental health problemsproblem behavior接受機構安置少年之現況分析︰檢視少年所面臨之問題與機構工作人員之服務內容及限制
