陳光陽2006-07-262018-07-092006-07-262018-07-092000http://ntur.lib.ntu.edu.tw//handle/246246/28697畜犬的生長期可分為五個階段,分別 為嬰兒期(the neonatal) , 移形期(the transitional),社會化期(the socialization), 青少年期(the juvenile) , 及成年期(the adult),其中以社會化期最被行為學者所重 視。社會化期是指幼犬在3 至12 或16 週 齡的階段,研究顯示,幼犬在社會化期的 經驗會顯著地影響往後終其一生的行為表 現與個性,即使只是一點點的經驗。同樣 的,若在社會化期將幼犬與某些特定對象 隔離,則往後即使再給小狗更多的機會, 牠仍然無法對此類的對象有適當的行為表 現。在台灣的社會中,畜主的生活形態與 價值觀念與西方國家有很大的不同,如居 住空間狹小,偏好飼養小型犬,不習慣外 出運動等,所以在小狗的社交行為方面多 被畜主所忽略,以致於有81%的畜犬有過 動傾向,49%畜犬有過度吠叫問題,46%有 非社交性恐懼症, 28%有分離憂鬱症 (separation anxiety),20%有攻擊行為,19% 有社交性恐懼症等,因而造成大部分主人 的困擾。「幼犬社交教室」在歐美國家已 被認為是一可以增進畜主畜犬良好互動關 係與預防問題行為產生之方法,並被行為 專科醫師所推薦。透過「幼犬社交教室」 的施行,吾人可將犬隻之正確飼養管理知 識、合適的社交活動與行為表現帶給參加 活動的畜主與幼犬,期望在未來畜主與幼 犬的居家生活中發生長期而有效的影響。 本研究旨在事先製作適合本地畜主與畜犬 需求的「幼犬社交教室」課程,以利將來 「幼犬社交教室」的實施。研究結果,台 灣的畜主較喜歡使用方便不花費時間與金 錢的鼓勵方式,少用直接接觸肢體的處罰 方式。在對於行為問題的認知方面,畜主 們對於犬隻「敏感性行為問題」與「教養 性行為問題」的認知較為不足。在畜主對 於畜犬知識方面,多數畜主的了解程度尚 稱中上,但多數畜主對於畜犬相關疾病健 康及生理發展知識較為不足。在畜主教養 態度量表方面,多數畜主是屬於有自信、 相信權威及相信後天影響的主人。Five periods of development are recognized in dogs: the neonatal, the transitional, the socialization, the juvenile, and the adult. The socialization period which occurs at about 3 to 12 or 16 weeks is probably the one that has received the most attention in the early literature on the development of canine behavior. It is possibly the most important, because during this time, social attachments to people are made. This period has often been referred to as the “critical period” for the formation of social relationships. Even a small amount of experience (or a total lack of experience) during this time appears to have long-lasting effects on the dog’s behavior. The puppies that were isolated from all human contact until 16 weeks of age failed to interact with humans when they were first taken out of isolation. With continues contact most of these puppies still showed less social contact with humans and could not become a good companion animal in human families. There are many culture differences between Taiwan society and Western countries such as dog owners in Taiwan like to raise toy breed dogs and most of them do not like to exercise with their pets outside. According to our study last year, 81% of pet dogs in Taipei area were hyperactive, 49% had the problem of over-barking, 46% got fear problems and 28% of them suffered with separation anxiety. Puppy socialization classes, which typically involve basic obedience training as well as allowing socialization with other puppies and people, have become increasingly popular in recent years. Based upon the suggestion that adequate socialization is necessary for appropriate adult behavior, these programs are designed to ensure that sufficient social interaction occurs to produce well socialized animals. The purpose of this study is that we want to set up a proper course of puppy socialization classes for Taiwan owners. According to our study, the method owners always choose to praise their dogs with good behavior were ‘orally praise’, ‘touch him’ and ‘hold him’, whereas the owners did not like to use physically punishment to dear with dog’s bad manner. In the part of owner’s recognition about canine behavior problems, Taipei owners were less aware about ‘sensitive behavior problems’ and ‘over-active behavior problems’. We also survey the basic dog knowledge of puppy owners in Taipei area, most of the owners got medium to high level of scores. But most of them did not know the preventive medicine and physical development of puppies.
