The semi-permeable biomimetic membrane properties, total transferred volume and flow rate were evaluated. A universal osmotic outlet plug is developed as a negative pressure for standard PMMA and PDMS microfluidic devices. The reverse salt flux is investigated to prove the biocompatibility of the osmotic outlet plug. We further demonstrated a precise single macrophages position application using osmotic outlet plug. This osmotic outlet plug provides similar functionality to traditional syringe pump but opens a great potential to make the portable device miniaturization to be true.Energy free liquid delivery method | Osmosis | Passive | PumplessAn energy free passive pumping system for microfluidic deviceconference paper2-s2.0-85079824301https://api.elsevier.com/content/abstract/scopus_id/85079824301
