Trained as a sociologist with a background in international law, his work sits at the intersection of global health governance, human rights law, gender and sexuality studies, and disability and crip studies. His research examines how law, policy, and expertise shape embodied lives, with particular attention to queer, disabled, migrant, and Indigenous experiences across Asia and beyond. He has published widely in international journals and is the author and editor of several books on gender equality, human rights, and social justice.
