As Mei-Yu fronts approach Taiwan, the occurrence of convective systems can frequently result in torrential rainfall, which can cause severe floods and landslides. Hence, to improve understanding and forecast of Mei-Yu-induced storms is an urgent and crucial issue to the disaster reduction. In this project, the journal papers about the heavy precipitation during Mei-Yu seasons are first collected, which represent one of the important references to improve the teaching materials for the influence of Mei-Yu fronts in Taiwan. A major objective of this project is to assist Center Weather Bureau (CWB) in modifying the Mei-Yu course I on COMET to have correct scientific descriptions. The other objective is to cooperate with CWB teams to develop the Mei-Yu course II in English (Chinese) version and to make the whole Mei-Yu courses more complete. These improved courses will be helpful for the training of CWB forecasters in the future.梅雨鋒面豪大雨臺灣防災Mei-Yu frontstorrential rainfallTaiwandisaster reduction臺灣地區梅雨豪大雨之極短期預報技術研究
