But in this research, the Phase II ending time control is modified using a floating time scheme, instead of fixed 2 hours as used before. The experimental results from a comparative test outdoors show that the new Phase 2 control scheme can increase charging efficiency as much as 25 percent in sunny days. The outdoor test shows that the battery voltage never exceeding 14.1V and the control system can prevent the battery from overcharging.
