2012-08-012024-05-17https://scholars.lib.ntu.edu.tw/handle/123456789/693853摘要:本計畫擬探討臺灣青少年的補習現象、補習效果和補習變遷,及其在教育進階制 度、社會階層與城鄉的交互差異面貌;其中補習現象包括補習選擇、補習策略和補習內 容。擬採用中央研究院社會學研究所收集之「臺灣青少年成長歷程研究」與「臺灣社會 變遷基本調查」資料,預期以三年時間,探討下列三大主題之研究問題: 1、青少年補習的選擇、策略、內容及其動態性如何?不同學習階段(國中段、高中段) 的補習選擇、策略、內容及其動態性差異如何?青少年的補習選擇、策略、內容及 其動態性有教育進階制度、社會階層和城鄉的交互差異現象嗎? 2、青少年補習有效果嗎?不同學習階段(國中段、高中段)的補習效果是學習階段獨 立,還是會學習階段累積效果呢?前述的青少年補習效果有教育進階制度、社會階 層和城鄉的交互差異現象嗎? 3、青少年的補習、補習動態和補習效果有社會變遷(世代變遷)的現象嗎?青少年的 補習和補習效果的世代變遷有社會階層和城鄉的交互差異嗎? 此計畫針對臺灣青少年補習現象,作有系統的深入分析,改善並修正過去臺灣補習 經驗研究的不足和缺失,並採用缺漏機率倒數加權法(IPMW)和處理機率倒數加權法 (IPTW),掌握長期追蹤研究缺漏資料的問題和補習選擇的選擇性現象及動態性的多重 特徵,深入地探討臺灣青少年(包括國中段和高中段)的補習現象、補習效果及其變遷 與差異。預期將對臺灣青少年的補習現象及其效果之理論發展,和對教育進階政策與教 育平等政策有所貢獻。<br> Abstract: This research project aims to investigate (1) the profiles of cram schooling among adolescents in Taiwan, (2) the effects of cram schooling on adolescents’ academic performance, (3) the change patterns in the effects of cram schooling across different cohorts, and (4) the interactions between the cram schooling effects and educational entrance system, social stratification, and urban/rural division. The phenomena of cram schooling this project will inquire includes the choices, strategies, and contents. Using the data of Taiwan Youth Project and Taiwan Social Change Survey, this three-year project is designed to address the three following sets of research questions: 1. What are Taiwan adolescents’ choices, strategies, contents, and dynamics of cram schooling? What are the differences of cram schooling choices, strategies, contents, and dynamics across junior and senior high school learning stages? 2. Are the effects of cram schooling on adolescents’ examination performance positive, trivial, or even negative? Are the effects of cram schooling independent of learning stages? Are there any interactions between cram schooling effects on adolescents’ learning achievement and entrance system, social stratum, and rural/urban division? 3. Are there any cohort differences in the patterns, the dynamics, and the effects of cram schooling? Are those transitions heterogeneous between diverse social stratum or rural-urban continuum? To capture the dynamics and selection biases of cram schooling and to deal with missing data problems of longitudinal study, this research project features inverse probability missing weighting (IPMW) and inverse probability treatment weighting (IPTW) approaches to systematically and thoroughly examine the patterns, the effects, and the trends of cram schooling.
