The project includes four sub-projects, respectively “A Data-Driven Strategy for Government Economic Policy “, “A Data-Driven Strategy for Government Industrial Policy”, “A Data-Driven Strategy for Taiwan’s Industrial Growth”, and “A Data-Driven Strategy for Taiwan’s Technological Advancement and Competitive Strength”. Every sub-project also conducts 5 to 7 research plans. The research topics covers the fields of economic policy, industrial policy, industrial development and new data analysis, and scientific measurement of scientific research and industrial competitiveness. In 2018, under the suggestion of the steering committee of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the project reallocaed research resources on the topic of "income distribution", in order to improve the intergration of the sub-projects. Especially in the following issues: "Consumption, inflation, and the inequality of the asset portfolios”, "The economic consequences of the within-firm pay inequality ", "The income inequality and the characteristics of Taiwan’s various industries ", and “The gender discrimination of income distribution in Taiwan”. We hope that “income distribution” will become the featured theme of the project. In 2018 and 2019, we have exceeded the original planed goals. There are 14 papers published in excellent international journals, such as the project leader, professor Larry Y. Tzeng published two papers in Management Science; professor T. Wang published one paper in Contemporary Accounting Research; and professor Po-Hsuan Hsu published two papers in Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, etc. Besides, we recruited more than 90 outstanding research members in our research team. We invited over 100 nternationally renowned scholars to Taiwan. We held more than 80 academic activities, such as conference and seminars, and we established 20 sets of data databases In the future, we will continue to focus on the integration of the sub-projects, especially on the application of analytic tools, for example the big data analysis, to improve the integration between the sub-projects.National & Industrial Development; Competitiveness; Innovation; R&D; Economic & Industrial Policy; Public Policy; Incentive & Regulation; Business Strategy; International Trade; Housing; Labor; Healthcare; Education; National Income; Wealth Distribution國立臺灣大學高等教育深耕計畫-特色領域研究中心【總計畫-國家整體發展的數據分析與評估】
