A limited number of studies have reported the long-term patterns of SJS and TEN complications in patient populations over long follow-up periods. The aim of this retrospective study was to collect data on long-term sequelae in patients admitted for SJS, SJS/TEN overlap, or TEN between 1998 and 2012. Among all 102 patients eligible for analysis, the 2 most common sequelae were cutaneous and ocular problems, both with incidences of 44.1%. Visceral organ involvement was observed in 2 patients with irreversible deterioration of chronic kidney disease and in one patient with interstitial lung disease. Autoimmune disease was present in 6 patients: Sj?gren’s syndrome or Sj?gren- like syndrome in 5 patients and concomitant systemic lupus erythematosus and Hashimoto thyroiditis in 1 patient. ? 2016 The Authors.enComplicationSequelaeSJSSjögren’s syndromeStevens-johnson syndromeTENToxic epidermal necrolysis[SDGs]SDG3allopurinol; carbamazepine; phenytoin; adult; anonychia; Article; blister; chronic kidney disease; conjunctivitis; connective tissue disease; controlled study; cornea erosion; coughing; deterioration; diabetes mellitus; dry eye; dyspnea; eczema; female; follow up; foreign body; Hashimoto disease; hospital admission; hospitalization; human; human tissue; hyperemia; hyperpigmentation; hypertension; hypopigmentation; incidence; interstitial lung disease; lymphocytic infiltration; major clinical study; male; middle aged; mortality rate; nail disease; priority journal; pterygium; retrospective study; Sjoegren syndrome; skin biopsy; skin disease; Stevens Johnson syndrome; symblepharon; systemic lupus erythematosus; toxic epidermal necrolysis; trichiasis; aged; Autoimmune Diseases; Eye Diseases; Hashimoto disease; Lung Diseases, Interstitial; Lupus Erythematosus, Systemic; prognosis; Renal Insufficiency, Chronic; Sjogren's Syndrome; Skin Diseases; Stevens-Johnson Syndrome; Taiwan; time factor; Adult; Aged; Autoimmune Diseases; Eye Diseases; Female; Hashimoto Disease; Humans; Incidence; Lung Diseases, Interstitial; Lupus Erythematosus, Systemic; Male; Middle Aged; Prognosis; Renal Insufficiency, Chronic; Retrospective Studies; Sjogren's Syndrome; Skin Diseases; Stevens-Johnson Syndrome; Taiwan; Time FactorsLong-term sequelae of stevens-johnson syndrome/toxic epidermal necrolysisjournal article10.2340/00015555-2295265824402-s2.0-84976877629
