2001-08-012024-05-16https://scholars.lib.ntu.edu.tw/handle/123456789/669459摘要:本研究擬以兩年時間在台灣西南海域進行地球物理測勘與資料整編,以調查測繪台灣西南海域活斷層的分布與活動型態,並與法國學者Benoit Deffontaines合作,探討海域摺皺斷層與陸上類似構造間之關係。另外,本計畫亦與美國學者Joris Gieskes以及成功大學游鎮烽教授合作,採集台灣西南海域泥火山以及活斷層處的水體標本,以進行化學與同位素分析,探討增積岩體前緣從隱沒環境到碰撞環境過程中其構造與物理、化學性質的改變。 由於台灣造山帶由北向南發育,從台灣西南海域向北到陸上造山帶在空間上提供了一個觀察無震帶構造及特性到孕震帶構造及特性的良好機會。台灣海域中的一條主要脫序逆斷層可以視為陸上孕震脫序逆斷層的胚胎期構造。藉著研究調查這條脫序逆斷層從南往北的構造變化以及地球化學性質的改變,可以協助我們瞭解活斷層構造從無震到孕震的發育過程。 本研究成果可與「地震及活斷層研究」整合型計畫中在陸上從事活斷層調查及孕震帶研究的結果相結合,以全面瞭解台灣西南海域到西南陸上活斷層的分布,並結合地球物理與地球化學研究結果來瞭解活斷層構造從無震到孕震的變化及特性。本研究同時亦為中法合作研究計畫其成果將用來擇<br> Abstract: This proposal requests the support of a two-year research project to conduct marine geophysical and geochemical surveys in the area offshore southwestern Taiwan, and to compile and analyze all the available marine geophysical data in the region. The purposes of this research are to map the active faults of the study area, and to investigate the changes in structural styles and physical and chemical properties of an active fault zone as the fault structure evolves from aseismic to seismogenic. For active fault mapping, this research will collaborate with Dr. Benoit Deffontaines of CNRS in France to establish the structural relationships among fold and fault structures identified offshore to those observed on land. Specifically, we will focus our attention on a major out-of-sequence thrust that could represent an embryonic structure of the seismogenic Chelungpu Fault on land Taiwan. We intend to reprocess several seismic profiles running across this out-of-sequence thrust in the hope to reveal changes in structural style of the fault as it evolves from aseismic to seismogenic. This project will also collaborate with Prof. Chen-Fong You of the National Chengkung University and Prof. Joris Gieskes of the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, University of California, San Diego on geochemical and isotope analyses of the fluids seeped out from mud volcanoes and active fault planes. Fluid analyses may reveal information regarding changes in chemical properties of the accretionary wedge from subduction to collision setting.
