Case report: A 60-year-old female with abdominal distention was found to have a pelvic mass. Under the impression of ovarian cancer, laparotomy was performed only to show one isolated mass over omentum. Serial examination and pathology study including immunochemical staining indicated primary peritoneal serous carcinoma. Conclusion: Isolated omental peritoneal carcinoma without peritoneal carcinomatosis and ascites is rare, and whether this represented a unique entity with different chemotherapy response and treatment outcome from the disseminated form of primary peritoneal carcinoma needs to be reviewed in the future. ? 2014.[SDGs]SDG3CA 125 antigen; carboplatin; paclitaxel; protein p53; transcription factor PAX8; abdominal discomfort; abdominal distension; abdominal hysterectomy; abdominal mass; adnexa disease; adult; article; cancer combination chemotherapy; cancer staging; case report; computer assisted tomography; cytoreductive surgery; female; frozen section; giant cell; human; human tissue; immunohistochemistry; laparotomy; lymph node dissection; menopause; middle aged; multimodality cancer therapy; multiple cycle treatment; necrosis; omentectomy; omentum; ovary cancer; paraaortic lymph node; pelvis tumor; peritoneum cancer; peritonitis; primary serous peritoneal carcinoma; salpingooophorectomy; solid tumor; transvaginal echography; carcinoma; pathology; Peritoneal Neoplasms; Carcinoma; Female; Humans; Middle Aged; Omentum; Peritoneal NeoplasmsSolitary primary peritoneal carcinoma arising from the omentumjournal article10.1016/j.tjog.2014.02.001250172812-s2.0-84904016986
