The Eastern Taiwan Strait population is listed as “Critically Endangered” by the IUCN on account of its extreme low population size. In order to enhance public knowledge of this species and promote cetacean conservation, we will prepare a skeleton specimen of one dead Indo-pacific dolphin stranded in Kinmen Island in May 2010. The carcass will be dissected after the measurements of its external morphology are taken. After its flesh is removed, the bones will be boiled, bleached, and eventually assembled into a full skeleton for future exhibition use.中華白海豚骨骼標本Indo-Pacific dolphinSousa chinensisspecimen鯨豚骨骼標本製作
