This project aims to enhance the teaching quality of the selected course and to deepen its contents and views for students. The main purpose of this research is to propose a series of creative teaching modes, which mainly circulate the phenomena of “adaptation” on drama and other genres, crossing from the ancient to the contemporary, from the foreign land to our home land. The course designed for this project will start from the comprehension of the texts; during the classes, we will discuss how the text was revised and adapted, and how these recreations reflected the ideas and meanings of their times, cultures and society. I am inspired by the famous scholar Jan Kott's book, Shakespeare Our Contemporary. This teaching strategy tries to connect students' compassion and feelings with the classical texts, to lead them think about the significance of reading classics currently, and to give them an opportunity to take practice in a creative way on their own adaptation of the drama and performance.古典戲劇:文本與展演=Classical Chinese Drama: Text and Performance
