A measure of the selectivity and a separation index for adsorbate-adsorbent combinations are defined. Unlike conventional approaches, the present analysis is based upon dynamic considerations, and therefore, provides a way of describing both the transient and steady-state behaviors of the phenomenon. The steady-state results of the present models reduce to that derived from thermodynamic analysis, as a special case. In general, the present analysis yields different equilibrium representations.ADSORPTION OF BULK LIQUID MIXTURES TO SELECTIVE ADSORBENT SURFACE: A DYNAMIC APPROACH.journal article2-s2.0-0023456677https://www.scopus.com/inward/record.uri?eid=2-s2.0-0023456677&partnerID=40&md5=97ff53055fd79fb2b45b5c07f6588693
