2021-01-012024-05-16https://scholars.lib.ntu.edu.tw/handle/123456789/666967"語言是人類的本質性特徵。語言與我們的思想與社會生活、歷史文化息息相關。而在近年來,語言科技與認知計算相關研究領域也已然成為邁向通用、可解釋性 AI 技術中的關鍵指標。然而語言不僅是高等認知運算機制中的核心,同時也是人文化成的人類產物。要理解語言本身的複雜特質,語言的科學探究必須在多元跨域上進行高度的知識融合。這個時代要求與科學進展,使得語言學 (linguistics) 更朝向語言科學 (language science) 的視野中推進,語言學學門裡的各個子領域,除了自身之間的議題(語音、語法、語意) 與方法 (實驗、計算、跨文化質性)之間的流動,對於數位人文與創作、神經心理、社會文化、自然語言處理、語言復健、語言教學與司法、傳播與社會科學、地理學等都開啟了緊密的連結。 值此時代背景,我們認為急需推動新一代的語言學教育。本計畫旨在打造一個語言研究的研發環境,培育具【深度語言分析】(deep linguistic analytics) 前瞻性能力的優質人才,使其能夠提早浸淫在不拘泥知識邊界的語言研究探勘與創新應用開發。而這樣的人才培育藍圖,除了知識素材、學習樣貌、實踐場域的內容與導引設計,需要一個常態性的支持系統,才能從長期的醞釀中爆發研究能量與社會貢獻。 台大語言學領域在 QS 世界大學領域排名(Linguistics)向來名列前茅 (2020 第 47 名, 2018 第 39名),勝過歐美許多的頂尖名校。可惜的是百大排名內只有台大/台灣沒有語言學大學部,這是本計畫在目前階段希望能夠承擔與作為過渡的實踐動機之一。中長程我們希望藉由這個常態性支持系統,銜接特色領域中心,在入駐台大人文大樓之後,爭取承辦國際語奧賽事,吸引全球頂尖的學子來台灣就讀。為了吸引國際人才,我們在課程設計與整體學習環境上也需要較多資源挹注尚有可能成功。本計畫也同時另案申請科技部博士級研究人員補助。" "Language is an essential feature of human beings. It is closely related to our thoughts-shaping, social life, history, and culture. In recent years, the research fields related to language technology and cognitive computing have also become key indicators in moving towards general and interpretable AI technology. However, language is not only the core of the higher cognitive computing mechanism but also the cultivated product of human culture. To understand the complex characteristics of language itself, the scientific inquiry of language must carry out a high degree of knowledge integration in multiple and cross-domain. The requirements of this era and scientific progress have made linguistics more advanced from the perspective of language science. The various subfields of linguistics, in addition to their own issues (phonetics, grammar, semantics) and the link between methods (experimental, computational, and cross-cultural qualitative), for digital humanities and creation, neuropsychology, social culture, natural language processing, language rehabilitation, language teaching and justice, communication and social sciences, geography, etc. A tight connection is opened. Against the background of this era, we believe that there is an urgent need to promote a new generation of linguistic education. This project aims to create a language research ecosystem and cultivate high-quality talents with [deep linguistic analytics] forward-looking capabilities so that they can immerse themselves in language research exploration and innovative applications that do not adhere to knowledge boundaries. Such a blueprint for talent cultivation requires a normal and substantial support system, equipped with the proper design of knowledge materials, learning diversity, and its connection to the practice field, in order to unleash research potentials and promote social contribution from long-term brewing.
