The MTMS-derived hydrophobic SiO2 aerogel membranes exhibited at least 500% higher CO2 absorption flux than the uncoated MTMS-based aerogel membranes and could be reused and continuously operated for CO2 absorption for extended periods of time. As a result, MTMS-derived water-repellent silica aerogel membrane contactors are a potential candidate for large-scale CO 2 absorption in industrial power plants. ? 2014 The Royal Society of Chemistry.Reusable methyltrimethoxysilane-based mesoporous water-repellent silica aerogel membranes for CO2 capturejournal article10.1039/c3ra45371e2-s2.0-84889572413https://www.scopus.com/inward/record.uri?eid=2-s2.0-84889572413&doi=10.1039%2fc3ra45371e&partnerID=40&md5=cdd92394a8f81db6ebd270215051c1a2
