Kinmen National Park has been monitoring and researching for the Blue-tailed Bee-eaters’ population ecology and animal behavior since 2003, however we know very little about their migration behavior. The only solid information we have is that their winter habitats are located widely from India to New Guinea. The aim of this project is to know the migration model, migration path, and the winter habitat of Blue-tailed Bee-eaters in Kinmen Island. First, we will monitor the breeding population, colony distribution and breeding behavior of the Blue-tailed Bee-eaters. Second, we will use molecular technique to identify the genetic relationship between the breeder and helper. Last but not least, we will put geolocators and pinpoint GPS on the back of Blue-tailed Bee-eaters to trace their migration path and where the winter habitats are. We assumed the completion of this project would help in the decision making of managing strategies of the breeding habitat in Kinmen Island, and provide educational materials that serve as basic information of Blue-tailed Bee-eaters for conservation and eco-tourism promotion.栗喉蜂虎遷徙追蹤發報器GPS發報器Blue-tailed Bee-eaterMigrationgeolocatorPinpoint Gps金門栗喉蜂虎遷徙生態調查
