This disease has occurred in Europe, Latin America, North America, Australia, New Zeland, and Africa. However, Japan is the only Asian country that has declared to have this disease in June 2007; this disease has caused death of frog in the field and pet shops. In Taiwan, frogs and salamenders have become new pet animals in the past few years and the number of imported frogs and salamenders has increased markedly. Therefore, it is very possible that this disease will be introduced into Taiwan in the near future or it has probably already invaded and just has not become awared of yet. The objective of the study is to establish the methods of pathological diagnosis and PCR or nested PCR for the detection of Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis and to use these methods to determine whether this disese has existed in Taiwan.蛙壺菌蛙壺菌症兩棲動物Batrachochytrium dendrobatidischytridiomycosisamphibian寵與野生動物疾病與人類生活關係之研究-台灣兩棲動物蛙壼菌感染之調查
