The implementation considers the dynamic orientation changing of user terminals (UTs) to cause rapid radiation polarization variations. The BTS antenna array is thus equipped with a functionality of tunable polarization to comply with the UT antennas' polarization for minimizing polarization mismatch. Antenna architecture and its characteristics of radiation polarization are presented with HFSS full-wave simulations and experimental measurements on an antenna prototype shown to validate the concepts. ? 2021 Taiwan Microwave Association.Antenna modulesbase transceiver systempolarization mismatchradiation polarization5G mobile communication systemsAntenna arraysMicrowave antennasRadio transceiversActive antenna arraysBase transceiver systemGHz bandPhased antenna arraysPolarization mismatchRadiation polarizationTransceiver systemTunablesUser terminalsPolarizationPolarization-Tunable Phased Antenna Array Module at 28 GHz Band for 5G Applicationsconference paper10.23919/ISAP47258.2021.96145172-s2.0-85123285911
