We will use the expertise from NTU in Ralstonia infection and Ralstonia mutants compromised in virulence, in combination with Exeter’s expertise in quantitation of plant hormones to systematically address how the phytohormones abscisic acid (ABA), ssalicylic acid (SA), jasmonic acid (JA) and ethylene (ET) change during both susceptible and basal immune responses following Rs challenge of Arabidopsis and tomato. We will validate our results using an extensive collection of hormone mutants in combination with gene profiling.
