A three-reaction model is proposed for the oxidative thermal decomposition of oil sludge. The first reaction is pyrolysis reaction without oxygen, while the second and third reactions are oxidative reactions. This model can be used for the situation with concentration of oxygen below that of air. In the accumulate gaseous product, CO2 has the highest concentration. The temperature ranges corresponding to the maximum production rates of CO2 and of CO, HCs (hydrocarbons) and H 2 are 788 ~ 813 K and 713 ~ 738 K, respectively.
