The most well-known example is the double slit experiment of light interference, which, a hundred years later, has the electron interference in similar setup to follow suit (1). Anderson localization (2) was originally intended to be observed in a solid-state system but instead was observed in an optical system first (3). Many soliton-related phenomena were first observed in nonlinear optics system before they were observed in the BEC system (4). Even a fiber-optic analogy is found to mimic the event horizon of a black hole (5). In all these examples, optics is the herald because (a) these phenomena, though in different physics systems from optics, are somewhat based on similar physical principles with its optics counterparts; and (b) optical experiments are relatively easy to perform and observe. In this subproject, we plan to perform a series of optical experiments to test the ideas of ψDM in an analogy, which may shed light onto new research directions.非線性光學光孤子nonlinear opticssolitons高等教育深耕計畫-核心研究群計畫【類比暗物質波的非侷域非線性光學實驗】
