2024-05-182024-05-18https://scholars.lib.ntu.edu.tw/handle/123456789/717203Dr. Shih-Cheng Liao obtained his medical degree from Taipei Medical College (now Taipei Medical University) and completed his Ph.D. in epidemiology and preventive medicine at National Taiwan University (NTU). Following his mandatory military service as a second lieutenant medical officer in the R.O.C. Air Force and his psychiatric residency training at NTUH, he served as a visiting staff psychiatrist at NTUH. He now maintains his academic appointment as a full professor at NTU College of Medicine. Dr. Liao's clinical and academic interests include psychosomatic medicine, medical education, psychiatric epidemiology, consultation-liaison psychiatry, and suicidology. He has been involved in the National Program of Suicide Prevention since 2006 and serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the Taiwan Suicide Prevention Center. As an international contributor, he was invited by the World Health Organization to attend the World Suicide Report (Preventing suicide: A global imperative). In addition, Dr. Liao has served as the president of the Taiwan Association Against Depression and as the director of the NTU Student Counseling Center.
