He received his Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the University of Otago (New Zealand) in 2006. He completed postdoctoral training in Genetics at Brown University (USA) before joining National Cheng-chi University (Taiwan) in 2009. He was then recruited to NTU in 2012 as the first faculty member of the GIBMS. His research is focused on dietary restriction (DR) and its downstream pathways involved in aging and cognitive regulation. Using mouse and fruit fly models, his team has discovered several intracellular signaling molecules that mediate DR-induced responses. More recently, he has been interested in the role of the gut-brain axis in modulating neuropsychiatric disorders.Molecular and behavioral neuroscienceAging and neurodegenerative diseasesMicrobiota-gut-brain axisPEI-YU WANG
