They live in the shallower water area with water depth less than 30 meters where numerous human activities are highly overlapped, including coastal gillnet fisheries, that impacts continue to threaten their survival. For the conservation purpose, to set the foundation of the conservation strategies for Taiwanese CWD, to mitigate the possibility of injuries and by catch due to fisheries, and to form an effective management method between the local fisheries and the prey fish sources are critical at this stage. Therefore, the aims of the project include (1) trawling survey of the fish prey on the northern and southern hot spots and recording the harvest of the local small fishing boats to estimate the proportion of CWD’s preys will be removed by the fishing activities, (2)interviewing the local fishermen to understand their fishing methods, quantities, and their perceptions to CWD, and (3) analyzing VDR data to monitor the spatiotemporal movement of the local small gillnet fishing boats and to define their fishing ground. So that, the baseline information can be obtained in order to build the important habitat for the conservation of Taiwanese CWD, furthermore, by doing so for the Marine Protective Area installed in future.中華白海豚刺網漁業食餌資源VDRChinese white dolphingillnet fishieriesprey resourcesVDR瀕臨絕種或亟需保育之海洋生物資源現況及其生物學特性之調查研究/漁業活動對中華白海豚之影響研究
