This project attempts to further the efforts of last year`s project, the core aim of the second academic year of this project is to investigate the production and dissemination of culture and knowledge, its geographical range includes Taiwan, Hong Kong, China, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia as well as Britain and Canada, moving from Taiwan to the rest of the world. The project hopes to re-conceive how the `movement` of culture and literature reveals a complex series of phenomenon including dissemination, migration, disappearance, translation, fusion, which go to form the networks by which culture circulates. This project consists of three sub-projects, as listed below: (1) `Worlding: Re-evaluating Modernity through investigation of the history of the World`s Fair`; (2) `The production and circulation of culture and knowledge in Taiwanese literature and history`; (3) `The inter-cultural movement of popular culture and performance`; This year, the project will build on the foundation of last year, to expand further into other fields, using these opportunities for discussion to show the complicated interconnected networks by which Taiwanese literature and culture are disseminated, and showing how Taiwan and the world see each other, by providing space for debate, criticism, and interrogation, in the hope that the work of those who have made such great contributions to this field of research shall not be in vain.文化流動與知識傳播The dissemination of knowledge and cultural flow《臺灣與世界對話》文化流動與知識傳播
