It helps the information spread rapidly and bring a large amount of varied digital contents. Therefore, how to reserve and search the information efficiently becomes a tough challenge. This project, ‘Design and Implementation of an Adaptive Distributed Storage System for Digital Libraries’, will cooperate with National Taiwan University Library, and build up a digital contents storage system with efficiency evaluation modules. First, the logical three-tier architecture as well as hierarchical storage mechanisms will be proposed. Then, an adaptive distributed storage system integrating with catalog systems of libraries will be built. Moreover, an efficiency evaluation system modules incorporating in a decision support system based on ‘On Line Analytical Process’ (OLAP) technology, will be developed to monitor the performance of the storage system. By integrated with the distributed storage mechanism and OLAP, the resource utilization of each storage node will be more efficient and the system performance can hence be optimized. As the importance of the digital library increases nowadays, we believe that this project will be a very timely endeavor and will deliver results of both theoretical and practical importance.application/pdf217458 bytesapplication/pdfzh-TW國立臺灣大學電信工程學研究所數位圖書館分散式儲存階層式儲存機制網際網路線上分析處理Digital LibraryDistributed StorageHSMInternetOLAP具可適性之數位圖書館分散式儲存系統之研發與實作Design and Implementation of an Adaptive Distributed Storage System for Digitalreporthttp://ntur.lib.ntu.edu.tw/bitstream/246246/20340/1/932422H002019.pdf
