Clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats, (CRISPR)/CRISPR-associated protein 9 (Cas9) is the most popular system for gene editing. The objective of this project is to investigate and study the gene editing technology of horticultural crops well established in Japan, and to understand the consideration and regulations on gene editing crops of Japan government. Tsukuba University and Chiba University will be visited.
