2011-08-012024-05-15https://scholars.lib.ntu.edu.tw/handle/123456789/663869摘要:清代臺灣有眾多的義民,一直是大家耳熟能詳的事情。我們大概也都知道,所謂的義民是指社會動亂期間協助政府平亂之人。問題是,到底什麼樣的人才能算做是義民,歷史文獻上卻有不同的說法。除了嚴格定義、明確身份的「義民」之外,清代臺灣更多的情況是,社會動亂發生之際或者結束了以後,有很多人就自我宣稱是義民。換言之,如果採取最為廣義的一種定義,義民其實可以說是一種認同的自我宣稱。亦即,如果人們認同義民,也自我宣稱是義民,那就是義民了。上述的情況也意味著:義民其實並不是一個不言自明的詞彙,所謂「義民」的內涵和定義也必須被當成是一個問題來進行研究。本研究計畫有兩個直接的目標。第一,既然義民是一種國家從法律上賦予的一種身份,那麼,義民在具體上到底是一種怎樣的身份?第二,我們希望可以藉由文獻檔案以及田野調查,整理出清代臺灣獲得義民劄付的名單,並在此基礎之上,追查義民家庭背景及其發展,進一步探討「義民」身份的出現對於臺灣社會的具體影響。<br> Abstract: It is well-known that the Qing government awarded the title of “Yimin,” literary righteous civilians, to many who had assisted in the pacification of social disturbances in Taiwan. Ultimately, “Yimin” had become a social status representing official-recognized contributors through the acquisition of waist plaques after registration at local government offices. However, the mushrooming of “Yimin” subsequent to the climax of official bestowal in the eighteenth century speaks for the emergence of a strong assertion of self-identification in nineteenth-century Taiwan. Having been intrigued by this noticeable social development, the author hopes to find out that, first, the meaning and implications for “Yimin” in Taiwanese history at different stages, and second, how “Yimin” was transformed from a specific social status into a self-acclaimed assertion. Through an overall survey on relevant historical documents and field research, this project seeks to construct a comprehensive “Yimin” roster. On the basis of the roster, this project hopes to probe into the difference in the strategies adopted by official-recognized “Yimin” and self-acclaimed “Yimin”. Furthermore, it is hoped that through the scrutiny of the roster we will be able to trace the social background and development of certain “Yimin” and their families in order to understand the impact of “Yimin” status upon Taiwanese society in the Qing era.臺灣歷史義民taiwanhistoryyimin民人從無議敘之例:清代臺灣的「義民」及其身分
