Such prediction has been examined in many studies with two congenic sibling species or several sympatric species of different genera. However, few studies were conducted to examine the situation when more than two congenic species coexist. In this project, we intend to take advantage of the diverse bat fauna in Taiwan where 3-4 congenic species of genera Myotis and Murina and investigate the degree intra- and inter-specific dietary overlap among congenic species living either sympatrically or allopatrically and their relationship with local insect resources. Results from this study can help examine resource partitioning and niche theory in multiple sympatric sibling species. The project will be conducted in three years at several locations identified in previous bat survey where 3-4 Myotis and Murina species aree know to occur sympatrically, and several other locations where only one Myotis and/or Murina species occurs. Relative abundance of coexisting bat species at these locations will be checked before mist-netting and harp-net trapping will be conducted. Fecal samples of bats will be collected and later analyzed in the lab to record the insect species and relative volume of their content. Insect fauna at each location will be survey during the nights where mist-netting are conducted. Diet of different species of bats and the degree intra- and inter-specific dietary overlap among these bat species living either sympatrically or allopatrically will be calculated, and their relationship with local insect resources will be examined.鼠耳蝠管鼻蝠食性資源區隔生態區位競爭MyotisMurinadietresource partitioningnichecompetition共域的鼠耳蝠屬與管鼻蝠屬蝙蝠之資源利用區隔
