2015-01-012024-05-16https://scholars.lib.ntu.edu.tw/handle/123456789/668834摘要:雲端運算(cloud computing)採用高可信度的分散式服務模式讓使用者透過網路獲取資料中心多樣化的服務及計算能力,被視為下一波資通科技產業的新浪潮,也為相關的研究開闢了一個全新的舞台。行政院已將雲端運算列為四大新興智慧型產業之一,而國內外的企業如微軟、Google、IBM、廣達、趨勢、鴻海等也積極進行布局跨入雲端運算領域。台灣資通產業過去以硬體生產設計為優勢,要突破現今產業低毛利的瓶頸,必須尋求加值應用服務,而雲端運算的興起正提供此一轉變的新契機。 本計畫將整合跨學院之雲端運算相關研究人員,研究如何建構一個完整、開放且安全之雲端運算平台;並在此平台上提供多媒體、知識擷取及社群網路相關之智慧型應用與服務,更提供有效之介面協助使用者運用雲端之服務及資料,計畫下分為雲端系統、演算法與安全(system, methodologies and security for cloud)、雲端多媒體技術(multimedia cloud)、雲端知識擷取技術(knowledge cloud)、雲端社群技術(social cloud)及雲端介面與行動平台(interface and mobile platforms for cloud)五個研究項目。在系統與理論方面,專注於研究雲端相關分散式排程技術與檔案系統、解決雲端分享所衍生的資訊安全議題,以及開發適合雲端運算的機器學習與資料探勘演算法。在應用服務方面,著重於探討如何運用雲端技術,由巨量資訊源中,有效率地搜尋、過濾及組織內容,以提供多樣式的多媒體與知識擷取雲端服務;並與社群網路技術整合,提供更快速穩定的社群服務。最後,本於科技來自人性的信念,也將開發人性化的使用者與雲端服務之界面,研究雲端資料視覺呈現及互動方法、行動平台與雲端運算整合及協助情境資訊收集的雲端平台等數個面向。 <br> Abstract: This project studies multimedia cloud and its applications. In the era of cloud, many media intensive applications will be executed on the cloud. In many application domains, new methods/paradigms are necessary for the scenario of cloud environment. In addition, most of today`s cloud technologies are developed for generic applications. Thus, they often have to trade efficiency for generality. Unfortunately, because multimedia applications are often involved with sheer volume of data and tremendous amount of computation, such inefficiency could lead to unacceptable service latency. Thus, the objective of this project is (1) to propose new methods/paradigms for multimedia applications under the cloud environment and (2) to propose new framework designs for multimedia-aware clouds to provide reliable and efficient multimedia services. This project aims to explore possibilities along this direction for several important multimedia applications. In particular, we will study (1) highly parallel video coding, (2) privacy preserving media search, and (3) 3D rendering clouds. For each of these applications, we will implement it on the cloud, analyze its characteristics and propose necessary design changes for its application on clouds if necessary. The research topics involve both hardware architecture (such as hybrid clouds with heterogeneous processors and configurations of computing nodes) and software framework (such as coding methods, privacy-preserving indexing, novel programming paradigms, load balance algorithms, etc.).
