In view of usual implementations, in this paper the energy consumption of control processor, specific circuit and analog front-end are jointly minimized, with algorithm complexity, resource scheduling, coding rate and modulation order as optimization variables. Due to the optimization algorithm executed in control processor determines energy consumption in other components, a way based on iterative algorithms is proposed to track the minimum of entire system energy consumption. In the case study, we design a genetic algorithm and demonstrate the effective tracking based on practical parameters, which implies the proposed iterative tracking is applicable to and ready for advanced cellular systems such 3GPP LTE. © 2011 IEEE.Energy efficiency; Iterative tracking; OFDMA[SDGs]SDG73gpp lte; Algorithm complexity; Analog front-end; Cellular system; Coding rate; Control processors; Entire system; In-control; Iterative algorithm; OFDMA; OFDMA downlink; OFDMA systems; Optimization algorithms; Optimization variables; Resource-scheduling; Algorithms; Analog circuits; Communication systems; Design; Energy efficiency; Energy utilization; Mobile telecommunication systems; Personal communication systems; Wireless telecommunication systems; Frequency division multiple accessIterative Tracking the Minimum of Overall Energy Con-sumption in OFDMA Systemsconference paper10.1109/PIMRC.2011.6139652
