With the proposed model, one can select appropriate parameters for the label-setup policy and the label-release policy to match the traffic load and network environment. Key performance metrics, including the throughput, the label-setup rate, and the fast path bandwidth utilization can be obtained via the analytical results. Numerical results and simulations are used to verify the accuracy of our proposed queueing model. The trade-off among these performance metrics can be observed as well. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2002.application/pdf249412 bytesapplication/pdfen-USEconomic and social effects; Queueing theory; Analytical results; Band-width utilization; Network environments; Numerical results; Performance analysis; Performance metrics; Switching architectures; Traffic sources; Network architecturePerformance Analysis of A Generic GMPLS Switching Architecture under ON--OFF Traffic Sourcesjournal article10.1007/3-540-45803-4_37http://ntur.lib.ntu.edu.tw/bitstream/246246/144012/1/12.pdf
