We isolated seven polymorphic microsatellite loci with (GAAA)_n motifs from finless porpoises using an enrichment cloning procedure. We characterized these loci by screening 32 finless porpoises from the Taiwan Strait. The mean number of alleles per locus was 10.3 (range 5~16). The observed heterozygosity of each locus ranged 0.3~0.9.
