2010-08-012024-05-17https://scholars.lib.ntu.edu.tw/handle/123456789/672220摘要：本計畫將研究心智哲學與知覺哲學的一個核心問題：知覺意識（perceptual consciousness）與自我意識（self-consciousness）的關係是什麼？知覺意識提供了對於外在世界之感覺性的（sensory）且立即的識察（awareness），自我意識則使得認知者以某種方式意識到自己。本計畫要討論的核心議題是：這兩種意識是否根本上是彼此獨立的，還是說兩者在本質上有密切關聯？更具體而言，如果要對知覺經驗的特性有完整的說明，是否必須訴諸於某種特定的自我意識才行？我將藉由探討三組相關議題來進行這項研究：（1）所謂「對於識別錯誤之免疫性」（“the immunity to error through misidentification”）是不是自我意識的根本性質之一？如果是，那麼知覺具不具有這項性質？（2）要擁有自我意識是否需要具備複雜的概念能力？對於知覺的現象特性（phenomenal character）的經歷能否完全不涉及任何自我意識？（3）假設知覺與自我意識有本質上的關聯，那麼這兩者究竟是以什麼方式關聯在一起？那一個哲學理論能對此提供最好的解釋？根據對這三組議題的研究，我希望能對於知覺意識與自我意識之間的關係獲得清楚的理解，並對相關議題提出自己的立場。<br> Abstract: This three-year project (2008 ~ 2010) investigates a central issue in the philosophy of mind and perception—the relation between perception and self-consciousness. Perceptual consciousness provides a sensory and immediate awareness of the external reality. Self-consciousness enables a subject to be conscious of itself in a certain way. The issue is: Are these two kinds of consciousness fundamentally independent of each other? Or are they essentially connected? More specifically, is some sort of self-consciousness an essential feature of perception such that we cannot fully understand perceptual consciousness without it? I will conduct this research by addressing three related sets of issues: (1) Is the so-called “immunity to error through misidentification” an essential feature of self-consciousness? If it is, does perception possess this feature at all? (2) Does self-consciousness require sophisticated conceptual capacities in a way that perceptual consciousness does not? Can one experience the phenomenal character of perception without having any sort of self-consciousness? (3) Suppose perception essentially involves self-consciousness. How are they connected? Which philosophical theory best explain this connection? By examining these issues, I hope to obtain a clear understanding and provide a defensible position on the relation between perception and self-consciousness.知覺自我意識PerceptionSelf-consciousness
