2007-01-012024-05-17https://scholars.lib.ntu.edu.tw/handle/123456789/681041摘要:統計學已在二十一世紀成為各領域如生物、生命科學、農業、醫學、公共衛生、經濟、政治、管理、會計、財金、國企、社會、工程、電子、資訊及品管各方面收集及分析資料與制定決策時必備的工具,所以統計相關課程已成為本校各學系與研究所必修的基礎課程。本校94學年度一共開設162門各種統計課程供6303位學生修習。台大雖然為台灣及亞太地區首屈一指的綜合性之研究與教學大學,但本校迄今仍無獨立之統計系所。所以統計課程散佈於各學院由各系所老師講授,造成資源分散,老師教學負荷不均,教學品質不一且不易提昇。有鑑於此教務長特成立統計教學工作小組邀請工學院土木系田堯彰教授、管理學院財金系葉小蓁教授及顏月珠教授、理學院陳宏教授、生科系李培芬所長、公共衛生學院流病所張淑惠教授、生農學院廖振鐸教授及劉仁沛教授,並由教務長指派生農學院農藝系劉仁沛擔任召集人,工作小組開會五次並對各學院就統計課程內容、方式與師資、教學助理及電腦軟硬體設備之需求進行問卷調查,工作小組建議為要達到提昇統計教學品質的目標,本校必須成立跨學院功能性的「統計教學與發展中心」 (Center for Teaching and Development on Statistical Education , CTDSE) ,統籌統計教學課程的整合,訂定統計教學評量制度與建立資源之分配方式。鑒於自89年至94年統計教學資料顯示每年修習初等統計課程學生人數大約在4800人佔總修習統計課程總人數的75%,所以統計教學工作小組建議「統計教學中心」首要工作為提昇初等統計課程教學品質,並建議大班教學,小班實習,院內整合,課程名稱與學分數不變等原則,目前已有管理學院的工商管理系、會計系、財務金融系與國際企業系; 社會科學院經濟系、社會工作系、政治系; 生農學院農藝系、園藝系、生機系、森林系及動科系; 生命科學院與公共衛生學院等14個系所加入「統計教學與發展中心」,預期將有3200學生人次修習初等統計課程。「統計教學與發展中心」將依照各系所應用領域,一學期或兩學期<br> Abstract: Statistics plays an indispensable role in collection, analysis, interpretation of data and decision-making processes in biological, agriculture, medicine, economics, management, marketing, social science, electronics, and quality control in the 21st century. Consequently, statistics and its related courses become fundamental course requirement in almost all departments and graduate schools at the National Taiwan University. In the academic year of 2005, the National Taiwan University (NTU) offered a total of 162 statistical-related courses for a total of 6303 under-graduate and graduate students. However, because there is no Department of Statistics or Institute of Statistics at the National Taiwan University, statistics courses are offered at different colleges by various faculty members. As a result, resources failed to be utilized efficiently, uneven teaching loadings are distributed among faculty members, and ultimately quality of education can not be adequately controlled or even decreases. In September, 2006, Dean of Academic Affairs Division of the NTU, Professor B.H. Chiang established a Statistical Education Task Group (Task Group). The Task Group consists of statistical faculty from College of Management, College of Public Health, College of Engineering, College of Biosciences, College of Bio-resources and Agriculture. Professor Jen-pei Liu for the Division of Biometry, Department of Agronomy was appointed to chair the Task Group. The Task Group held 5 meetings since last September and performed a comprehensive survey about materials and contents, teaching methods, teaching assistant, hardware and software required in statistical education at the NTU. To improve and uplift the quality of statistical education at the NTU, the Task Group recommended establishing a functional unit at the NTU – Statistical Education Center (SEC) to coordinate the activities of statistical courses and education and to formulate evaluation system and structure of distribution of statistical education resources. Because the registration data from 2000 to 2005 shows that 4800 students took the introductory statistics courses, therefore, the Task Group urges that the primary objective of the Statistical Education Center should focus on improvement of quality of introductory statistical course. It is anticipated that 14 departments will join the Statistical Education Center with 3200 students in the introductory statistical course for the 2007 academic year. The Statistical Education Center will prepare the teaching materials and contents for the introductory statistical courses with respect to different requirements by various departments.
