For more than 80 years, the College of Science has been a vital part of National Taiwan University, and is the home for renowned scholars pursuing research that strengthens the knowledge of the world from Taiwan. NTU's College of Science explores knowledge in the mathematical, physical, chemical, atmospheric, geological, psychological, oceanic and astrophysical sciences. We represent seven departments, four institutes and seven research centers with outstanding faculty, excellent facilities, and a prominent history of academic achievements. In an environment that encourages diversity, harmony and the pursuit of excellence, faculties, students and the staff work together and contribute their expertise to achieve major academic innovations. The College of Science at NTU is striving for the highest standards in research, teaching and service that would foster scientific talents across the campus and around the world. We have high expectations of our students and alumni, and we have every confidence that you will achieve academic excellence while also contributing to the diversity of the science community.理學院前身為台北帝國大學理農學部,1928年帝大創校之初,此學部包含化學與生物兩個理學科,以及農學及農藝化學兩個農學科。1945年,抗戰勝利後,政府接收臺北帝大,理學院正式成立,當時設有化學系、地質系、動物系與植物系。其中,生命科學領域於2003年併入生命科學院。目前理學院共有7系、4所,相關教學研究涵蓋基礎科學(數學、物理、化學)、地球科學(地質、地理、大氣、海洋)及社會科學(心理、地理)三大領域,另有7個院級研究中心。2016年另將成立氣候變遷與永續發展國際學位學程。 學院目標 培育基礎科學、地球科學與社會科學之專業研究人才。強化課程規劃與內容,延攬優秀師資,提升教學水準,並以多元化課程激發學生學習興趣,奠定學生堅實之科學研究基礎。充實教學與研究設備,提昇教學與研究水準及國際競爭力,邁向世界一流之學術單位。加強國際學術交流,鼓勵師生參與國際學術活動,以提昇國際知名度。鼓勵教師跨學門、跨領域之合作研究,共同利用資源,激發新構想,邁向尖端科技研究之領域。 學術研究 以開創新興研究領域為發展策略,並符合國家整體發展、社會需求與國際潮流為依歸。理學院整體之學術表現耀眼,各領域表現均扮演國內之領航角色,而部分領域更已站上國際百大,甚至前50排名。相關研究課題包括:臺灣西南海域天然氣水合物能源資源調查與評估、臺灣地體動力研究計畫、心智神經科學、老人心理學研究、跨國生活滿意度研究、天然氣水合物研究、黑潮發電、高能物理實驗與粒子物理理論、宇宙背景幅射測量、微中子天文學、尖端凝態物理、原子分子與光學物理、奈米光學、化學生物學領域、功能性材料之設計與合成、生醫化學與科技、分子結構與影像技術、永續科技、劇烈天氣、氣候變遷與地球系統研究等。 未來展望 持續推動課程改革,並定期檢討課程,強化基礎課程與應用課程的訓練,實習與實驗並重,奠定學生研究高級知識之基礎。積極推動整合型大型研究計畫,以提昇學術研究水準。加強研究所之質與量,為社會培育科學人才,帶動學術研究。加強學生輔導工作,強化導師功能,促進師生之良好互動及溝通效果,以達到互相激勵之目的。持續檢討調整系所研究領域之分組,開發新的研究領域,以配合國家社會及符合系所發展之需要。College of ScienceUniversity College
